Short and plain, because that matches how this site is built: this page tells you exactly what gijsvanwulfen.com does and does not do with your data.
This site counts visits, and it does so without cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics records which page was opened, roughly which country the visit came from, and which browser and device type was used. It sets nothing in your browser, builds no profile, and cannot recognise you when you come back. There is no advertising tag and no ad measurement. The site does count which links are used: when you click a link, the page it was on, the kind of link and its destination are sent to a counter on tel.gijsvanwulfen.com, which is run for this site alone. It stores no IP address, no browser details and no identifier, so it counts clicks and cannot count people.
What it does not collect: there is no contact form, no account and no newsletter. The "Request availability" button is a plain email link. It opens your own email programme and sends your message straight to Gijs, so the message itself never passes through this website.
Because the measurement is cookieless and stores nothing on your device, there is nothing for you to accept or refuse, and no banner in your way.
The homepage has a TEDx talk you can watch. It only loads after you click play, it is never loaded automatically. Once you click play, the video is served by YouTube (owned by Google) and YouTube may then set its own cookies, the same as on youtube.com itself. That is between you and YouTube: see Google's privacy policy for what that covers.
This site sets no cookies. Not for advertising, not for analytics, not to recognise you when you come back. The visitor count described above works without them, which is why you are not asked to accept anything.
The one exception is the TEDx video described above, and only if you press play. Until you do, nothing from YouTube is loaded and nothing is stored.
To Cloudflare, which delivers this site and runs the visitor count on its own servers. Nothing goes to an advertising network, nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with any other party. Gijs sees only totals and trends, never who you are. The one other exception is YouTube, and only after you press play on the video. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page opens. Nothing else about you is sent and no cookie is set by it.
The visitor count holds no name, no account and nothing that points back to you, so in practice there is nothing about you to look up or delete. You can still ask, and you will get a straight answer. You can also object to being counted at all. Email gijs@gijsvanwulfen.com and you will get an answer. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
